Welcome to Food in your Face on line!

FIYF is a weekly show that airs on a campus community radio station in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

The show has been in existence for about 4 months and a lot has happend since the first show.

I have established a structure that moves through food issues in many different ways.

For instance, I believe in buying locally produced foods and therefore do a lot of work to highlight vendors and farmers at the Guelph Farmer's Market. I will frequently have guest on the show that sell their wares every Saturday.

Generally I also have an interview every show. I have had everyone from Ignatius Farm manager Heather Lekx, to local beekeeper Allison Skinner, I have chatted with the organizers out at The Working Centre in Kitchener (www.theworkingcentre.org), talked with the amazing Percy Schmeiser (www.percyschmeiser.com), I have also talked with other local farmers, the developers of seeds for space travel, the local organizer of the Slow Food Movement in Guelph, and with Shari Darling--the author of Harmony on the Palate.

Speaking of books, I have, to date, also reviewed Raw by Charlie Trotter, and Vancouver Cooks, a cookbook whose proceeds go to support the Chefs’ Table Scholarship and Bursary Fund which helps young chefs committed to the development of regional cuisine.
